⚽🏀 Juventus Summer Camp (Since 2013) – Where Kids Grow, Play, and Learn
While Addis Ababa is bustling with activities this summer, one program continues to stand out for its energy, structure, and heart: the Juventus Summer Camp, a long-running, family-friendly program that turns the school break into an Olympic-style adventure.
Located at the Juventus Italian Sports Club, this well-established camp combines sports, academics, and social connection. And the best part? It’s not just a summer thing. The team behind the camp also runs an impressive school-year program for older kids and teens – the NBA Tigers.
🌞 A Look Inside the Juventus Summer Camp 2025
This year’s theme — the “Juventus Summer Olympics Camp” — brings ten action-packed weeks of fun to life. The program welcomes kids between the ages of 5 and 17, with daily sessions filled with everything from football, basketball, and tennis to dance, judo, and yoga. Academic refreshers and English sessions are part of the routine too, giving kids a balanced mix of movement and learning.
Started back in 2013, the Juventus Summer Camp has grown into a trusted, annual institution for families in Addis. The instructors are active, encouraging, and multilingual — and the setting at Juventus offers the kind of open space and facilities that kids truly thrive in.
Each week brings a new focus, and so far the summer has included everything from relay races and team tournaments to arts & crafts and guest-led workshops. With nearly 100 kids enrolled each week, the vibe is energetic and family-friendly — and parents appreciate the reliable structure.

🐯 NBA Tigers: Where Teens Train Bodies and Minds
Starting August 2nd, the NBA Tigers Program returns with a powerful mix of athletics, reading culture, and academic prep — designed especially for older kids and teens (ages 9–17). It’s more than just a sports club — it’s a weekend hub for personal growth.
Every Saturday, the courts at Juventus come alive with the Tigers Basketball League, a high-energy training and game format that encourages skill, focus, and teamwork. Players are grouped into two age brackets (9–13 and 14–17), and monthly awards recognize outstanding effort and improvement — creating both challenge and motivation.
But what makes NBA Tigers truly special is the reading and academic dimension. Every Sunday, students dive into carefully selected eBooks, discuss them in small reading circles, and build language confidence — guided by native or near-native English speakers. Paired with SAT, IGCSE, CSC, and IB prep sessions, this gives teens the tools they need to succeed in school and beyond.
Why we love this at Ella & Samuel: It’s rare to find a program that speaks to older children and teens in such a holistic way. The combination of sports and structured reading is a powerful one — helping young people develop both physical strength and critical thinking. And of course, we’re always excited to see programs that celebrate books and stories, just like we do.
With its motto “Where Strong Minds Meet Strong Bodies,” NBA Tigers creates a space for teens to thrive — socially, physically, and intellectually.
📌 Program runs every weekend during the school year.
🏀 Basketball League: Saturdays, 9:00–12:00
📚 Reading Circles: Sundays, 9:00–10:30 or 10:30–12:00
