Are your kids into painting, doodling, glueing, and glittering everything in sight? Or maybe you’ve got a little art-lover at home who’s always asking, “Who painted that?” Then we’ve got a summer tip that’s as colorful as a rainbow after a rainy day:

Art & Design Drift’s Art History Summer Camp is a total masterpiece! 🎨🖌

We recently discovered this magical, hands-on art camp, and we just had to share it with you. Imagine your child stepping into the world of Van Gogh, Monet, or even Salvador Dalí — not just learning about them, but actually creating art inspired by them!

🗓 When & Where?

🖼 Dates: August 11th – August 22nd, 2025 (two whole weeks of artistic fun!)
📍 Location: KIKUNDI Gallery, inside the Hilton Hotel, Addis Abeba
✂ Age Groups:

  • 6–13 years old: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • 16–24 years old: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Yes, you read that right — teens and young adults can join too! 🧑‍🎨✨

💡 Try It for a Day: Not sure if it’s a fit? They offer day passes, so you can dip your toes into the creative magic before committing.

🎨 What’s on the Canvas?

Each day, campers explore the life and legacy of one famous artist or art movement. Past highlights include:

  • Upside-down painting inspired by the Sistine Chapel
  • Pop Art self-portraits bursting with color
  • Van Gogh-inspired lampshades that actually light up
  • Mosaics made from upcycled ceramics, using Gaudí’s Trencadís technique

Featured artists include:

🌿 Claude Monet
🎨 Leonardo da Vinci
🗯 Pop Art pioneers
😱 Edvard Munch

It’s not about just looking at old paintings — it’s about stepping inside them.

The founders of Art & Design Drift are passionate creatives who took art history during college — and couldn’t stop thinking about how exciting and meaningful it could be for the next generation. That’s why they launched Art & Design Drift two years ago, with a mission: to make art history practical, joyful, and unforgettable.

Their philosophy?

So that’s exactly what they offer: hands-on exploration through color, texture, and imagination.
