🖍️ Think Visual Vol. 2 — A Sketchbook Workshop for Curious Kids in Addis 🎨

🚨 Calling all young doodlers, dreamers & mini-designers! If you’re spending August in Addis Ababa with kids aged 4 to 12, we’ve found a hidden gem for your calendar: Think Visual – Kids Edition is back!

👩🏽‍🎨 Hosted by local architect and visual artist Winta Assefa, this workshop isn’t just about art — it’s about seeing, thinking, and sketching the world differently.

And it’s not the first time she’s done it. Years ago, Winta invited a small group of kids into her creative world for four days of drawing, note-taking, sketchbook-making, and even a little architecture. And just this summer? One of those very kids interned at an architecture firm. 🙌🏽

Now she’s bringing the magic back. Adapted from her staff-picked Skillshare class, the new Think Visual: Kids Edition Vol. 2 kicks off on August 12th, and we’re already wishing we could sign up ourselves.

🧠 What’s it all about?

Over two weeks (two sessions per week), your child will join a small group (just 5–10 kids!) to explore creative thinking through drawing. Winta keeps it playful, thoughtful, and grounded in real design tools.

Here’s what’s planned:

  • 📖 Day 1: Intro to Visual Communication
  • 🏡 Day 2: Design Your Dream House
  • ✏️ Day 3: Sand Drawing Basics
  • 🚀 Day 4: Pick Your Own Adventure!

But that’s not all — Winta teases even more creative goodies like animation, scent-inspired drawing, and visual note-taking. Seriously, how cool is that?! 👃🎞️📝

Why we love it 💛

Winta’s workshops aren’t about “perfect” art — they’re about confidence, curiosity, and communication. Through her gentle guidance, kids start seeing sketchbooks not just as a place to draw, but as a space to think. ✨

If you’re looking for a meaningful, screen-free August activity that’s fresh, local, and lovingly designed — this one’s a keeper. 🎒
